The new Ricoh Caplio RX camera, priced at $350, has a slim, wide-angle zoom lens with a focal length of 28 – 100 mm which is equivalent to a 35mm camera. This digital camera claims to have the world’s fastest shutter response and quick start-up time tested at 0.12 seconds and 0.9 seconds respectively. It has a 3.6x optical & 3.4x digital zoom. It has a 1.8-inch TFT LCD display, movie and sound functions, six scene modes (portrait, sports, landscape, night scene, text and high-sensitivity), an internal 8MB memory along with SD and MMC card support and also a USB 1.1.

Sony offers a dizzying variety of choices in its products and it continues this trend in the camera section as well. With a starting price of $409, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F88 has a 5 megapixel super HAD CCD, 3x Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar lens, 10 scene modes and an Info lithium stamina battery which can display the length of time remaining before the battery is drained completely. It also has an optional wide angle converter lens and docking station with a 300 degree rotating lens capable of capturing scenic shots and portraits. It has an MPEG1 movie mode and a 1cm ‘magnifying glass’ mode.

Released in August 2004, this Pentax Optio S5i is a tiny camera with sliding lens. Samsung Digimax 430 is one of the finest series produced by Samsung. The camera has received vivid reviews that have made it the one to carry. Olympus D-560 Zoom has a slim, smaller and sleeker design. It has 3.2 effective Megapixel which offer high resolution pictures. It has a 16 MB xD Picture card slot and has a wrist strap. The camera will come with a USB cable and video cable with CD featuring Olympus Master software and drivers. It is a compact camera that offers subtleness and variety at the same time.
