PhotographyBLOG has a short review of this 12.2-megapixel compact digital camera. As a reminder, the Leica X1 comes equipped with a 36mm fixed lens and a 2.7-inch LCD screen. The camera uses an APS-C sized (23.6mm x 15.8mm) CMOS sensor with a 3:2 aspect ratio. The image-stabilized Leica Elmarit 24mm f/2.8 lens provides a focal length of 36mm in 35mm terms. Additional features include a sensitivity range of ISO 100 – 3200, a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000th of a second, JPEG and DNG RAW file support, and a continuous shooting rate of up to 3 frames per second.

Toshiba H30 Compact HD Camcorder
CrunchGear has reviewed the new Toshiba H30 compact HD camcorder that provides a 10 megapixels sensor, a 5x optical zoom, a 10x digital zoom, an SD card storage and a touchscreen LCD display. The Toshiba H30 comes in a very compact form factor and produces a much better image quality than pocket cameras. Recorded videos are stored on flash memory, but the H30 includes just 128MB on board, of which only about 96MB is usable, so SDHC media is a necessity. The H30 takes SD/SDHC memory cards up to 32GB (not included). Each 32GB card will record up to 5-hour of 1080p video.
Exemode SQ30m Mini Digital Camera
Measuring only 53mm x 19mm x 23mm and weighing just 21 grams, the SQ30m is Exemode’s newest mini digital camera for the Japanese market. Priced at 5,985 Yen (about $67), this affordable camera sports a 1.95-megapixel CMOS image sensor, a 64MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 2GB) and has the ability to capture both 320 x 240 video at 8fps as well as 1280 x 1200 digital still images.

Casio has updated its Exilim digital camera series with the new Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z670 digital camera. Designed to provide exceptional high quality videos and photographs, the EX-Z670 features a 12.1-megapixels sensor with a 4x optical zoom and a 27mm wide-angle lens. The camera adopts the Easy Mode function that allows beginners to capture professional quality photographs. Dropcam Echo Internet-connected Security Camera
Dropcam has recently announced the availability of its latest internet-connected security camera, the Dropcam Echo. This security camera connects to your home or business router via Wi-Fi connectivity and automatically starts streaming video to the company’s site. You can log in via a regular desktop browser or via the iPhone or iPad apps. The Dropcom DVR is also a subscription-based feature, allowing you to look back through the past 30 days of footage, complete with a timeline navigation system. If the camera spots any movement then it will automatically send out an email or iPhone push-notification. The Dropcam Echo retails for $279 each.

Hammacher’s 3D Camcorder
Hammacher has started selling the first 3D home camcorder in the world that allows you to see the recorded 3D video on the device’s screen, without the need for any special glasses. Using a 4GB SD card, the $600 camcorder can store up to four hours of 3D video or 2,000 3D still images. Don’t expect high-quality video though. The camcorder’s two lenses have to work with a 3-megapixel image sensor. The videos are recorded in 640 x 480 pixel resolution as AVI files. The camcorder can also take standard 2D movies and pictures. Its rechargeable battery provides two hours of operation from a six-hour charge.
Samsung WP10 Waterproof Digicam
Folks in South Korea are now able to purchase the new Samsung WP10 waterproof digicam. The camera boasts a 12.2-megapixel sensor with a 5x optical zoom and a 2.7-inch display screen. The Samsung WP10 is also capable of recording 720p HD quality at 30 fps. Much like the latest CHOBi camera, the Samsung WP10 is also waterproof for up to 3-meter underwater. Other specs include a 20MB of internal memory, a slot for SD or SDHC memory cards (up to 32GB) and a USB port. The Samsung WP10 waterproof camera will retail for 299,000 Won or around $244.
Praktica Unveils A New Point-And-Shoot Camera
Praktica has announced a new point-and-shoot camera by unveiling the Luxmedia 12-04. Specs-wise, this compact camera sports a 12-megapixel image sensor, a 3x optical zoom lens, a 3.0-inch TFT display, a 32MB of internal memory, an SD/SDHC card slot, Smile Detector, Intelligent Scene Mode, 24 Scene Modes and a voice recorder.
